
EEO Counselor 32- Hour Certification Course-Virtual
Course Overview
This interactive course satisfies the EEOC’s 32‑hour training requirement for new Federal EEO Counselors. Participants will explore the counselor’s roles and responsibilities and gain a working knowledge of the laws, regulations, and directives that govern the federal sector EEO process. Through small-group exercises, structured interviews, and realistic role-plays, participants will practice conducting limited inquiries into allegations such as harassment, reasonable accommodation, and disparate treatment. The course emphasizes practical skill-building, effective communication, and early-resolution techniques to prepare participants for real-world counseling assignments.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
A. Gain a basic understanding of EEO Laws and regulations
B. Interpret and apply EEOC MD 110 and 29 C.F.R. Part 1614
C. Interpret and apply the theories of discrimination
D. Describe the roles and responsibilities of EEO Counselors
E. Identify and properly frame EEO claims
F. Learn and demonstrate practical communication skills for counseling
G. Plan and conduct effective interviews
H. Prepare complete, accurate, and compliant counseling reports
