The ABCs of Disability and Reasonable Accommodation

Section 501 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 requires the federal government to actively hire and promote workers with disabilities.  The regulations for this law require the federal government to provide equal access to training and promotion opportunities and reasonable accommodations for workers with disabilities.  Using lectures, case studies, and relevant learning activities, this course will focus on the legal requirements surrounding reasonable accommodation for a person with a psychiatric disability and the responsibility to engage in the interactive process. Additionally, the course will cover the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and proactive prevention.
