Leslie Saucedo

Leslie Saucedo is an accomplished executive and attorney with a distinguished record of senior leadership across the federal government, where she advanced civil rights, equal employment opportunity, and organizational inclusion. She is the founder of LAS Professional Services, LLC, a firm specializing in mediation, facilitation of complex conversations, training design and delivery, and policy review and development.

Leslie previously served as the Director of the Office of Civil Rights at FEMA, leading a workforce of more than 250 civil rights professionals responsible for enforcing civil rights laws and promoting equity and accessibility for employees, disaster survivors, and the public. In an earlier role at FEMA, she built and launched the agency’s first external, public‑facing civil rights program as Director of the External Civil Rights Division.

She also served as the Senior Advisor within the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of Departmental Equal Employment Opportunity and the Deputy Assistant Director and Embedded Attorney of the Office of Diversity and Civil Rights within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Earlier in her career, Leslie served as an Attorney Advisor for the U.S. Department of Commerce, focusing on employment and labor matters, and practiced law in the private sector, representing corporations and individuals.

Leslie obtained her B.A. in Industrial / Organizational Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University and her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School. She currently lives in North Carolina with her husband and daughter and spends her time fostering dogs, hiking, gardening, and cooking.
